sharia...respect and understanding only goes one way
Whatever happened to "tolerance"? Doesn't seem so good when it's you who have to practise it, does it?

I'm all for tolerance...however, it's a two way street. Islamic theology doesn't allow for that.
When kids go to school it's to learn, not practice religion. Tolerance or understanding allows for everyone to be equal. When sharia gets involved, there is no tolerance or understanding, but equality for all with special circumstances and rules for believers.
Special rules, circumstances, and allowances cause others to have to adjust (school has to make adjustments to accomodate the prayer time/room)...that is not equality.

Accommodating faith can be a delicate issue, particularly in a secular public school system.
No sh!t...

Luckily, this is in Canada.
Otherwise, it's unconstitutional here in the States.
The constitution is not an armor plated, porcupine quilled blanket that we can wrap ourselves in and hope it protects us from the evils of the world. Yes, it's in canada...it is only an example of how sharia creep happens. The location is irrelevant and there are plenty of examples of it happening in the us as well...
Sharia will wipe it's butt with the constitution if we let it. Left-handed of course and making every effort to not face south-east...

I concede the point, but the problem is that this war (of sorts) is also against Christian fundamentalists in the States as well.
I guess that depends on your point of view...I suppose one would have to consider christian fundamentalists a threat somehow or another. I certainly don't...maybe a little weird but not what I would consider a threat. Not nearly the type of threat that islamic theology and sharia present...
